Pure Storage Unveils an All-Flash Hybrid-Storage Killer
HDDs from Seagate and Western Digital are pushing into the 20TB range for a whole lot less than a comparable flash drive. But Pure Storage thinks the second generation of its FlashArray//C storage platform will be a hybrid flash/disk storage killer because it has the capacity to match a hybrid array with an all-flash storage setup. The pitch is that with FlashArray//C's capacity, organizations can do away with hard-drive-based storage, which draws much more power than SSDs and generates far more heat.

The pandemic has led to an expansion of the ways business owners use mobile banking apps, with some observers noting an uptick in SMB loan applications and management via mobile devices in recent months. Some FIs are offering offering simplified mobile versions of the more complex functions they provide via desktop. For instance, a small business may not be able to efficiently conduct forecasting models based on sales forecasts on a mobile device, but the small screen does allow SMB owners to view the results of those forecasting models.

Microsoft Has Made Securing Windows 10 PCs a Whole Lot Easier for IT Admins
Microsoft has introduced a new, 'streamlined' setup experience that allows admins to apply security settings on an organization-wide scale via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. This includes activating Windows Defender Antivirus for all users, web filtering and protecting files and folders on PCs with BitLocker Drive Encryption. The feature has been built "with small and medium-sized businesses in mind" and is available to customers using Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
