Contactless Self-Service Lockers Now Available for FIs
FTSI has introduced a new product, Smart Lockers for Banking, that offers contactless self-service. This accountholder-facing smart locker technology was designed specifically for FIs and can deliver debit cards, cashier checks, coin orders and documents at an integrated area within the branch location, outside the branch or at a hub location. Accountholders can interact longer at the locker and are not limited to traditional branch hours.
ATMs Sprayed with Self-Coating Disinfectant
Singapore's UOB is spraying its ATMs with an anti-microbial, self-disinfecting coating that is able to kill germs and bacteria that come into contact with it and lasts for up to six months. They also coat high-touch areas at all of its branches with the commercial grade self-disinfecting coating.

Accenture and the Digital Dollar Foundation have published a whitepaper laying out proposals for the development of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in the US. The whitepaper points to the possibilities of enhancing competition in international payments and integrating financial markets, which would appear to be a statement of intent regarding the importance of the dollar retaining the status it has enjoyed for decades as the world’s de facto currency. The whitepaper concludes that the US must decide the role it wishes to play as this “wave of digital token innovation gains momentum” and questions over the dollar’s ability to remain a default analog instrument and unit of account.
