A Core Group of Consumers Continues to Prefer Cash, Researcher Finds

Consumers who have at least one credit card and a non-prepaid debit card on average make only about a third of their in-person payments in cash, according to Fed data. Some 8.5% of U.S. consumers with household incomes below the median household income of $61,000 did not have a credit card or non-prepaid debit card in 2017, according to the Fed. This subset of Americans isn’t alone in preferring or depending heavily on cash.

HPE Aruba: Think Bigger than SD-WAN – It’s SD-Branch

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) rolled out updates to Aruba Central, its cloud-based platform that unifies network management, artificial intelligence (AI) powered analytics, and security across wired, wireless, and WAN at the edge. The company notes that the concept of SD-Branch includes SD-WAN but also extends to the LAN and the WLAN.



SD-WAN Products Impress amid Wide Price Disparity

Eight SD-WAN products tested by NSS Labs surpassed the minimum quality of experience measurements used to calculate their performance in enterprise applications. The test once again highlighted a wide disparity in pricing and total cost of ownership per Mb/s ranging from $4 to $37. However, performance isn’t necessarily the key measure that organizations look at when considering options for SD-WAN. More important factors include operational integration, licensing structures, or management models that provide organizations with different levels of flexibility.
