Complimentary Webinar

Maintaining Telecommunications & Meeting Auditor Requirements

It can be extremely difficult to maintain telecommunications with your staff and customers after a disaster. This point is evidenced by the fact that the Post-Katrina reports from all of the governmental agencies regulating financial institutions placed restoring communications quickly at the top of their lists. The FFIEC reports said that banks must:

"Anticipate disruptions in communications services, possibly for extended periods of time."

The report also noted that "communications outages made it difficult to locate missing personnel."

Therefore banks must develop affordable ways to quickly restore their telecommunications infrastructure. This complimentary Webinar will demonstrate how your bank can be prepared for telecom disasters without having a telecom person on staff or spending thousands of dollars on redundant phone systems.

What You Will Learn:

- How to inexpensively satisfy telecom disaster requirements
- How to show auditors that you can provide a backup telecom system with just 1 phone call
- How you can successfully answer every telecom disaster preparedness questionnaire on the auditor's forms.

BONUS: Every attendee will receive a sample Telecommunications Disaster Recovery Plan.

Who Should Attend:

IT staff, telecom staff, Audit and Compliance personnel, Managers, and anyone interested in maintaining telecommunications.

Date: Schedule a 30-minute live demonstration at your convenience that could one day save your business. If this isn't the easiest to use, most affordable, and most powerful inbound telecom disaster recovery system that you have ever seen, we will send you a free gift - seeing is believing!

Windows Installer Cleanup is a free tool that was devised to allow people to manually remove the entries that .MSI installations create in the system's installed-applications database. If the installer crashes, for instance or if a program refuses to uninstall correctly, this app can help. In action, this program is useful for troubleshooting broken application installations by letting you start the install from scratch.

Microsoft has launched a beta for Windows Intune, a service that uses the cloud to offer management, patching, and antivirus capabilities for an organization's PCs. When it launches in final form, the Intune service will also include upgrade rights for a company to move its PCs to the enterprise edition of Windows 7. It will also include the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, a collection of asset management, virtualization, and other services that typically are only available for large businesses that have a Software Assurance contract with Microsoft. Although the Intune service can manage updates to Microsoft software, it can't update third party software, nor can it handle the initial deployment and installation of programs.

ATM news of the weird: a man has built a fully functional ATM out of Legos, tapping the toy firm's NXT programmable robotics kit. It includes a working numeric keypad, a cash scanner that can be calibrated to accept any currency and a note separator.

Technology and Marketing

Corporate Executive Board found that many baby boomers do not expect a "stereotypical" retirement — instead, they expect to reduce spending and to continue to work part-time past retirement age. Their research shows that:

- Fifty-eight percent do not have a formal budget, so only about one-quarter of mass market baby boomers (total investable assets under $100,000) feel satisfied with their savings.

- Over one-quarter of boomers moved savings away from their primary provider.

- Mass market boomers are financially active. Almost 40 percent of them are shifting deposits either toward or away from their primary provider.

The research and advisory firm advises banks to offer their boomer customers educational sites to solve holistic financial challenges, not push products, and savings accounts that reward customers for saving more, not consolidating business.

Online Banking/E-Commerce/Website Design

After growing rapidly from 2003 to 2007, emerging payment technologies such as online bill payment and prepaid cards stagnated somewhat in the last couple of years. IDC Financial Insights believes that even though the recession has flattened the use of most types of consumer payments, banks should be investing in the promising areas of same day bill payment, mobile payments and prepaid cards. They think that mobile payments have nowhere to go but up, and that the future looks bright for payroll and open loop gift cards.

ShoreTel has introduced a program that guarantees the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for new ShoreTel customers. The ShoreTel Lowest TCO Guarantee Program uses independent third party data to compare the actual costs a business incurs for its UC system over time, and if the TCO analysis shows that ShoreTel's TCO is higher than a competitor's, ShoreTel will lower its prices to beat the competition. Data used to calculate the five year TCO includes items such as operating costs, hardware replacement, training, support, software upgrades, moves, adds and changes, system management, power consumption and other ongoing charges.

Customer Interaction Solutions magazine has awarded a 2009 Product of the Year Award to Interactive Intelligence for its new business process automation solution, Interaction Process Automation (IPA). IPA uses Interactive Intelligence's IP-based unified communications platform, Customer Interaction Center (CIC), as a framework for automating routine tasks such as the on-boarding of employees, the processing of loans, lead management, and a wide range of other back office type operations.

Call Centers

Instant messaging can be helpful in call centers whether their representatives are in a center or working from home. If a representative needs quick help with an issue, they can send an IM to a fellow rep or their manager. If necessary, the manager can join the call, whisper in the agent's ear without the customer's knowledge or even take over the call. Stanford Federal bank utilizes work a at home contact center manager and a handful of at-home agents.
